Jeet Kune Do Gear

Returning to a martial art after several years?
I took Jeet Kune Do for about 4 years and I was only maybe 3 levels away from getting my black belt when I quit 5 or 6 years ago. I was in middle school at the time but now I’m in high school and I’m thinking of returning to my old karate school and my old teacher, who remains a family friend. Anyway, I’m posting this question because I’m wondering what level I would probably get set at. I still have all my old gear, and of course I understand if they want to start me over again at white, but that doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t suck. Just wondering.
you were “only maybe 3 levels away from getting my black belt when I quit 5 or 6 years ago”… How does that work in a martial art that doesn’t use a belt system?
